Understanding

Due to Galileo's mission, scientist were able to get more information on Jupiter. They found out that Jupiter is drier than expected. Measurements from the probe showed some clouds, and lightning only in the distance. They later discovered that the prob entered an area known as "hot spot." Galileo sampled different parts of Jupiter's extensive magnetosphere. The orbits were designed for close up flybys of Jupiter's largest moons. Due to all of the information that Galileo was bringing they decided to extend the mission.
